Recently researchers at the CSI have attended several international conferences in the field of ICT and ageing.

In September 2016, The University of Ljubljana finalises the Erasmus+ project Innovation in Social Learning for Higher Education Institutions (ISOLEARN) that started in September 2014.

Katja Lozar Manfreda, PhD, Anže Sendelbah, Gregor Čehovin and Miha Matjašič from the Centre for Social Informatics recently attended the 2016 RC33 Conference: 9th International Conference on Social Science Methodology.

One of the main outputs of the ISOLEARN (Innovation and SOcial LEARNing in Higher Education Institutions) project are Guidelines and Quality Indicators for enhancing accessibility in HEIs.

Ana Slavec, PhD attended the Second International Conference on Survey Methods in Multinational, Multiregional and Multicultural Contexts (3MC 2016) that took place in Chicago from 25th to 29th of July 2016. She presented a paper titled Word frequency effect and response quality: A comparison of four questionnaire versions on a web panel.

Within the international SERISS (Synergies for Europe's Research Infrastructures in the Social Sciences) project, in which also the researchers of Centre for Social Informatics are involved, was published the first issue of e-newsletter.

In June 2016 the project Safer Internet Centre was successfully concluded. “Safer Internet Centre Slovenia is the national project promoting and ensuring a better internet for kids. This is a EU initiated and co-financed project, in Slovenia financial support also comes from the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport.

Prof. Vasja Vehovar, PhD from Centre for Social Informatics has conducted a course at the Summer School in Survey Methodology that was carried out by Universitat Pomepu Fabra in Barcelona at the end of June 2016.

Gregor Čehovin from the Centre for Social Informatics attended the American Association for Public Opinion Research (AAPOR) 71st Annual Conference. At the conference’s first poster session, Gregor Čehovin presented the preliminary results of an ongoing metastudy of survey breakoffs titled “Introduction breakoffs, questionnaire breakoffs and web questionnaire length: a metastudy”.

Between 18 and 20 May 2016, the Centre for Social Informatics (CSI) is hosting Dr Jon A. Krosnicka, the leading survey methodologist from Stanford University (USA). Dr Krosnick will participate in Ana Slavec’s second doctoral seminar and the »Survey mode effects« workshop that will be held at the National Institute of Public Health.
