Attending the ESRA 2017 conference were Katja Lozar Manfreda, PhD, Andraž Petrovčič, PhD, Nejc Berzelak, PhD, Gregor Čehovin and Ana Slavec, PhD (associate member of CSI).

Andraž Petrovčič, PhD, and Vesna Dolničar, PhD, attended the 19th International Conference on Human-Computer Interaction (HCII 2017) that took place in Vancouver, Canada, from 9-14 July 2017. HCII2017 is the largest international forum for the dissemination and exchange of up-to-date scientific information on theoretical, generic and applied areas of HCI.

Associate Prof Katja Lozar Manfreda, PhD, taught at the Barcelona Summer School in Survey Methodology 2017 at the University Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona from 29-30 June 2017.

In July 2017, the JUST project"Click-off! Stop cyber violence against women and girls" was lunched. The project is co-financed by the EC Directorate - General Justice and Consumers and coordinated by the Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities of the Republic of Slovenia. The University of Ljubljana Faculty of Social Sciences participates in the project as partner.

Within the Erasmus + mobility Programme the CSI hosted dr. Iolie Nicolaidou from Cyprus University of Technology, Department of Communication and Internet Studies.

The first national stakeholders' meeting of the Interreg Europe ITHACA project was held at the Faculty of Social Sciences on 22 June 2017. ITHACA involves nine EU regions with a shared ambition of accelerating the scaling up of smart health and care innovation that can support active and healthy living and secure the triple win of economic growth, more sustainable health and care systems as well as the improved wellbeing of Europe’s citizens.

Associate prof. dr. Katja Lozar Manfreda attended ITACOSM 2017 – the 5th ITAlian COnference on Survey Methodology which took place from June 14 to June 16, 2017 at the University of Bologna, Department of Statistical Sciences.

Miha Matjašič from the Centre for Social Informatics (CSI) attended the American Association for Public Opinion Research’s (AAPOR) 72nd Annual Conference. The AAPOR 72nd Annual Conference took place in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA from 18 to 21 May 2017.

Between 13th and 15th September 2017 the Wolfson College (Oxford) will host the 9th International Conference on Social Informatics (SocInfo 2017). SocInfo is an interdisciplinary venue for researchers from Computer Science, Informatics, Social Sciences and Management Sciences.

Vasja Vehovar, PhD and Katja Lozar Manfreda, PhD has been published in a handbook of online research methods by a recognized international publisher Sage. It gives an overview of a rapid expansion of online surveys and deals with their methodological issues.
