On October 16, 2024, the traditional annual Workshop on Online Panels and Mixed-Mode Surveys (SPIKNA) took place. This time, the workshop was held at the Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia (SURS).

Researchers from the Centre for Social Informatics participated in the 10th ECREA European Communication Conference, which took place from September 24 to 27, 2024, in Ljubljana.

The study contributes to a better understanding of the factors that influence the acceptance of welfare technologies among nurses caring for older adults in non-clinical settings and highlights the central role of the patient in all aspects of nursing practice.

Andraž Petrovčič, PhD, Bianca Reisdorf, PhD, Anabel Quan-Haase, PhD, Jošt Bartol and Darja Grošelj, PhD, published an original research article titled “Digital inequalities among internet users before and during the COVID-19 pandemic: A comparison from two cross-sectional surveys in Slovenia.”

Recognizing the importance of traditional approaches is vital, and healthcare providers and policymakers should prioritize inclusivity to ensure a diverse and equitable healthcare system for older adults and vulnerable populations.

He presented an original research article “The moderating effect of internet skills and uses on the formation of internet privacy concerns among older adults.”

At the conference, Jošt Bartol presented an original scientific contribution “A contextual approach to understanding the determinants of internet users’ willingness to share personal health information online”.

Jošt Bartol, member of the Centre for Social Informatics, participated at the 5th International European Social Survey (ESS) conference. He presented an original scientific paper titled “Online privacy and social inequalities: Factors affecting privacy protection behaviour among internet users in Slovenia.”

Last week, the Faculty of Social Sciences hosted the Survey Methodology Summer School, organized by the European Survey Research Association (ESRA) and the Centre for Social Informatics

We are sad to share the news that Don Dillman, retired professor at Washington State University, has passed away in June 2024. Professor Dillman was well known to students and graduates of Social Informatics and Methodology as one of the foremost survey methodologists.
