On the occasion of the Excellence in ReSTI Pilot Curriculum & Training Kick-off event, the international project consortium is pleased to invite you to the presentation and expert panel discussion on the ReSTI.academy and its innovative didactic approach, which will take place on the 2nd of October 2018 in Eisenstadt. The open-to-public presentation will be the concluding programme item of the two-day event hosted by the ReSTI partner University of Applied Sciences Burgenland. Further information including a detailed programme will be available in the second half of September 2018.

Members of the Centre for the Social Informatics (CSI), Vesna Dolničar, PhD, Andraž Petrovčič, PhD, Tomaž Burnik and Mojca Šetinc are authors of the new scientific article published in International Journal of Rehabilitation Research. In the article, authors presented the results of the randomized crossover experiment involving 50 older smartphone users, aged 60 years and above which was guided by the principles of summative usability testing.

Representatives of the Centre for Social Informatics (CSI) at the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana, Vesna Dolničar, PhD, Mojca Šetinc and Tomaž Burnik, as well as Vika Pušnik, representative of International Research office, participated at the kick-off meeting of the Interreg V-A Slovenia-Austria project COOP4HEALTHCARE (Cross-sectoral Alliances for Smart Healthcare Solutions), which took place in Pinkafeld (Austria) on July 18.

In July 2018, the members of the Centre for the Social Informatics (CSI) at the University of Ljubljana (UL), Faculty of Social Sciences, started the implementation of the basic project entitled "Using paradata to evaluate response quality in web surveys", which is co-financed by the Slovenian Research Agency. The leader of the basic project, which will last three years, is Vasja Vehovar, PhD.

The applied project Understanding and analysis of users' needs for the development of e-services for integrated social and health care in the aging society that addresses current Slovenian and EU policy agenda for ICTs, active ageing, social care and healthcare was launched on July 1st 2018. Its lead partner is the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Social Sciences, Centre for Social Informatics (UL FSS CSI). Other project partners are: University Medical Centre Ljubljana and Telekom Slovenije. Project is funded by the Slovenian Research Agency and Telekom Slovenije.

A new paper from the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Social Sciences, Centre for Social Informatics (CSI) published in the Telecommunications Policy journal has found that at least two types of barriers are of significant importance for understanding engagement of internet non-user in proxy internet use.

On 3rd and 4th of July the fifth of nine Exchange of Experience and Peer Evaluation (EEPE) events took place in Stuttgart, Germany (state Baden-Württemberg). EEPE was attended by Mojca Šetinc from the Centre for Social Informatics (CSI), and three representatives of the stakeholders – Amalija Šiftar from Slovene Federation of Pensioners’ Associations, Mateja Nagode from Social Protection Institute of the Republic of Slovenia, and Dalibor Gavrić from Health Insurance Institute of Slovenia.

University of Ljubljana is a project partner in the new project COOP4HEALTHCARE (Cross-sectoral Alliances for Smart Healthcare Solutions) which was launched on May 1st. Project is funded by the Cooperation Programme Interreg V-A Slovenia-Austria. Head of the project at the University of Ljubljana is member of the Centre for Social Informatics at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Vesna Dolničar, PhD.

On 5th of June the Co-design and ecosystems seminar of the ITHACA project took place in Krakow (Poland). The seminar was attended by Vesna Dolničar and Mojca Šetinc from the Centre for Social Informatics (CSI), and five representatives of the stakeholders.

On Wednesday, June 6 2018, a conference “Hate speech from the perspective of law enforcement and social networks” was organised by Spletno oko hotline at the Faculty of Social Sciences in Ljubljana, Slovenia. The lecturers described procedures and existing dilemmas in moderating and prosecuting the hate speech online.
