A green light given to the i-evAALution piloting on the consortium meeting in Soest, Netherlands
An important milestone within the project i-evAALution was achieved at the 4th consortium meeting (AAL project) that took place on October 17 and 18, 2019 in Lyvore in Soest, the Netherlands. Consortium members have agreed that the i-evAALution bundle is ready to be tested by the primary end-users (people aged 65 and over) and the secondary end users (informal caregivers) in four test regions: Italy, Austria, Netherlands, Slovenia.

CSI hosted 8th Web Survey Day
Centre for Social Informatics (CSI) organized 8th Web Survey Day which was held on 25th September 2019. The event is intended for professional public of online surveys’ users and 1KA users. In the first part of the event prof. dr. Vasja Vehovar presented trends on the field of web surveys and the development of web survey tool 1KA. In the second part, prof. Mick Couper from University of Michigan (USA) gave a lecture about the practical challenges in web survey methodology.

Workshop on mixed-mode surveys 2019 with prof. Mick Couper
Centre for Social Informatics (CSI) organized an interactive workshop on mixed-mode surveys which was held on 23 September 2019. The keynote »Transition to online surveys: Opportunities and challenges« was given by prof. Mick Couper from University of Michigan (USA). His talk was followed by a discussion and exchange of experiences among attendees working at CSI, Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia and National Institute of Public Health.

CYBERSAFE project partners meeting
Barbara Brečko, PhD, member of Centre for Social Informatics, attended CYBERSAFE partners meeting that took place in Laiden, Netherlands on 16th and 17th September. Partners from University of Ljubljana and University of Tartu discussed the framework of cyber violence against women and girls, on which a report will be published in November.

Nov article: »Forms and factors of internet access in Slovenia«
Darja Grošelj, PhD, and Miha Matjašič published an article »Forms and factors of internet access in Slovenia« in Teorija in praksa journal. With the reference to the theory of digital inequality, the article explores the forms of internet access among Slovenian Internet users and the factors that influence the adoption and frequency of the usage of various forms of internet access.

CSI members attended the ESRA 8th Annual Conference
Vasja Vehovar, PhD, Andraž Petrovčič, PhD, Asist. Miha Matjašič, Jernej Berzelak, PhD, Barbara Brečko, PhD and Gregor Čehovin, PhD from the Centre for Social Informatics (CSI) attended the European Survey Research Association (ESRA) 8th Conference. The conference took place in Zagreb, Croatia, from 15th to 19th July 2019. It is the largest European conference covering the field of survey methodology.

As part of the bilateral agreement between the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Ljubljana and The Department of Communication Studies at the University of North Carolina Charlotte, the Centre for Social Informatics hosted Dr. Bianca C. Reisdorf between 11 and 14 July 2019.
