Between November 27th and 29th, the seventh of nine Exchange of Experience and Peer Evaluation (EEPE) events took place in French cities of Limoges and Bordeaux (region Nouvelle-Aquitaine). EEPE was attended by assoc. prof. Vesna Dolničar, PhD, from the Centre for Social Informatics (CSI), and two representatives of the stakeholders – Anita Jacović from Long-term Care Directorate at Ministry of Health and Dominika Oroszy from University Medical Centre Ljubljana.

Member of Centre for Social Informatics (CSI) assoc. prof. Vesna Dolničar, PhD, participated at the congress of Slovenian Medical Informatics Association MI’2018 which was held in Zreče between November 14 and 16. At the round table entitled “Chronic care, telehealth and telecare, implantable devices” which took place on Wednesday, November 14, she presented the paper Assessing Smart Health and Care in nine EU regions: ITHACA's Self-Assessment online survey.

From 29th to 31st of October Centre of Excellence in Research on Ageing and Care (CoE AgeCare) International Kick-Off Conference took place in Jyväskylä, Finland. CoE AgeCare conference was attended by Dr Simona Hvalič Touzery from the Centre for Social Informatics (CSI).

On 24th and 25th of October i-evAALution AAL project meeting took place in Vienna. The aim of the project is to give access to innovative Active and Assisted Living solutions in a large scale pilot test. The goal is to find evidence on the effect of such solutions on the quality of life of older adults and the socio-economic viability in a greater context.

On 18 October 2018, at the invitation of the Spletno oko hotline, Minister of Interior Boštjan Poklukar visited the Faculty of Social Sciences in the University of Ljubljana. Boštjan Lindav, Director of the Criminal Police Directorate also attended this meeting.

In October 2018 coordinator of the hotline Spletno oko (Univerza v Ljubljani, Fakulteta za družbene vede, Center za družboslovno informatiko) Andrej Motl participated at a discussion on spreading of hate speech and fake news with several experts organized by the Radio-television Slovenia.

The Centre of Social Informatics (CSI) at the Faculty of Social Sciences hosted Prof. Neil Charness from Florida State University, US. Prof. Charness visited CSI between 11. and 13. October 2018 as part of a bilateral international project funded by the Slovenian Research Agency aiming at designing measurement instruments and training solutions for improving the digital skills and technological proficiency in the context of the adoption of ambient assisted living services on mobile applications.

On 3rd and 4th of October the sixth of nine Exchange of Experience and Peer Evaluation (EEPE) events took place in Ljubljana. EEPE was organised by members of Centre for Social Informatics from the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana, Vesna Dolničar, PhD (head of the project), Mojca Šetinc, Tomaž Burnik and Simona Hvalič Touzery, PhD. Actively involved in the organisation were also Drago Rudel, PhD (MKS Ltd.), Vesna Stanić (AS), and Gregor Cuzak (ECHAlliance).

In October 2018, the members of the Centre for the Social Informatics (CSI) at the University of Ljubljana (UL), Faculty of Social Sciences, started the implementation of the two-year bilateral project entitled "Digital transformation of quantitative data collection in social science research: Integrating survey data collection with big data and paradata for identifying online behaviour", which is co-financed by the Slovenian Research Agency. The project is implemented in the framework of scientific research cooperation between the Republic of Slovenia and the State of Israel.

On September 27, 2018, the eighth consultation on the topic of child abuse on the Internet took place at the Faculty of Social Sciences under the title “Treatment of e-abuses of children: from theory to practice”. The organizers Hotline Spletno oko, the Safer Internet Centre of Slovenia, the Criminal Police Directorate of General Police Department and the Association for Informatics and Telecommunications at the Chamber of Commerce of Slovenia have again noted a great interest of the expert public to address this issue.
