Launch of BEHAVE project (SEE Beyond Hate: Learning and Acting to Counter Hate Speech Online in South East Europe)

In January 2020, the Centre of Social Informatics launched the BEHAVE project (SEE Beyond Hate: Learning and Acting to Counter Hate Speech Online in South East Europe). The project brings together three countries (Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia), and is coordinated by The Peace Institute. The project is co-financed by EU Justice Programme (Rights, Equality and Citizenship Programme (REC)).

Finished project ClickOff and published outputs about online violence against women and girls

In December 2019 the project ClickOff, which was coordinated by the Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities in partnership of University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Social Sciences, Centre for Social Informatics and associated partners Police and Ministry of Justice, has finished.

Andraž Petrovčič, PhD, visited UNC at Charlotte

Andraž Petrovčič, Ph. D., Research fellow at the Centre of Social Informatics, visited the Department of Communication Studies, University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNCC). The visit was part of billateral project »A multidimensional perspective of gradations in digital inclusion through examining access, motivation, skills, uses and outcomes of online engagement« which has been ongoing since 2019 under the lead of Dr. Petrovčič and Dr. Bianca C. Reisdorf (UNCC). The project is funded by the Slovenian Research Agency.

Networking for the cross-border future

The COOP4HEALTHCARE project (Interreg SI-AT project), which is conducted by the research teams of the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Social Sciences, Center for Social Sciences (CDI), and also achieves its goals by liaising with various stakeholders working in the field of long-term care, healthcare, active living and aging.

As part of the COOP4HEALTHCARE project (Interreg SI-AT project), of which the research team of the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Social Sciences, Center for Social Informatics (CDI) is part of an expert research meeting between partners University of Carinthia (CUAS , Austria) and our researchers Vesna Dolničar Ph.D., Simona Hvalič-Touzery, Ph.D., Katja Prevodnik, Ph.D., and Lea Lebar, took place on January 15, 2020.

Reciprocal study visits of UL, FSS and NHS Liverpool as part of the ITHACA project

The Faculty of Social Sciences, Centre for Social Informatics at Ljubljana University and NHS Liverpool Clinical Commissioning Group (LCCG) organised reciprocal study visits during December 2019 as part of the InnovaTion in Health And Care for All (ITHACA) project.

The Slovenian i-evAALution pilot intervention study started in Kranj and in Ljubljana

Two i-evAALution workshops with older people and their informal carers took place in the Cultural center Predoslje (25/11/2019) and on the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana (09/12/2019). More than 100 of attendees, who expressed the interest for the participation in the project, were informed about the international project i-evAALution, the research design and the i-evAALution bundle. Both events marked also the beginning of the pilot intervention in Slovenia.

Sakari Taipale, PhD published a new article in scientific journal Information & Management

In November 2019 Sakari Taipale, PhD, member od Centre for Social Informatics, published a new article in scientific journal Information & Management. The article "Robot acceptance model for care (RAM-care): A principled approach to the intention to use care robots" was coauthored by Tuuli Turja, Lino Aaltonen and Atte Oksanen.

Andraž Petrovčič, PhD, a member of the Centre for Social Informatics, is the recipient of the award for outstanding achievements in scientific research. He received the award at the 20th Honours Meeting of the Faculty of Social Sciences, held on Monday, December 2, 2019.

International Days for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and the close of the project Clickoff

As part of events of the International Days for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and the ending of the project Clickoff, co-funded by EU, an international conference #Clickoff online violence against women and girls was organised on 27th of November at Brdo Congress Centre in Slovenia.
