The sCAN project: Recommendations for the establishment of more respectful communication online
At the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Social Sciences, within the Centre for Social Informatics, we participated in a two-year European project 'Platforms, Experts, Tools: Specialised Cyber-Activists Network' (sCAN), with the main purpose to gather valuable experiences and expertise, tools and methodology concerning cyber hate, as well as to develop comprehensive practices of hatred identification, reporting and action against hate speech online.

Final event of the COOP4HEALTHCARE project
In line with the “new normality”, also the COOP4HEALTHCARE team (Interreg SI-AT project) had to adapt it’s final activities. The final event of the project, of which the research team of the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Social Sciences, Centre for Social Informatics is part of, took place in the digital realm, with the use of collaborative online technologies.

New scientific article in Sociological Methods & Research
When comparing social science phenomena through a time perspective, absolute and relative difference are the two typical presentation formats used to communicate interpretations to the audience, while time distance is the least frequently used of such formats. The article of Dr. Katja Prevodnik and Prof. Dr. Vasja Vehovar addresses the issue of basic comparative measures and argues that the chosen presentation format is extremely important because the various formats suggest different substantive interpretations.

Conclusion of Web Survey in Slovenia and Israel on Digital Transformation of Quantitative Data Collection
Centre for Social Informatics (CSI) and The Samuel Neaman Institute for National Policy Research (SNI), Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, Israel prepared a comprehensive 20-minute web survey on the topic of Internet use, online shopping, and privacy. Data collection was concluded in February 2020 and more than 5000 responses were collected overall. The survey was deployed in the Slovenian, Hebrew and Arabic languages using the Slovenian access panel Valicon and the Israeli iPanel.

Cybersafe project meeting in Tartu, Estonia
In March 2020 partners of the Cybersafe project met in Tartu, Estonia. The project partners are working together to guarantee the successful implementation of an educational online tool to be used in schools, in order to tackle online violence against girls.

Framework report within Cybersafe project was published
Within the Cybersafe project (Changing Attitudes among teenagers on Cyber Violence against Women and Girls), co-financed by the Rights, Equality and Citizenship (REC) Programme of the European Union, was published a report, prepared by Barbara Brečko, PhD., member of Centre for Social Informatics.

Qualitative Data Analysis Workshop
The Qualitative Data Analysis Workshop was held from 2 to 5 March 2020 at the Center for Social Informatics at the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana. The instructor was Dr Lea Sgier, from the University of Geneva (Political Science Department).
