CSI launches national research project The Implications of Proxy Internet Use for the Internet Skills of Older Adults

Research team of the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Social Sciences, Centre for Social Informatics (UL FSS CSI) has launched a new basic research project The implications of proxy internet use (PIU) for the internet skills of older adults. The project launched on 1st September 2020 and will last for three years. The project is funded by the Slovenian Research Agency.

New article about socially unacceptable discourse on Facebook news portals

Vasja Vehovar, PhD, member of the Centre for Social Informatics, published an article together with Blaž Povž, Darja Fišer, PhD, Nikola Ljubešić, PhD, Ajda Šulc, Dejan Jontes, PhD. The article was published in Teorija in praksa and deals with the socially unacceptable discourse on Facebook news portals.

A changed way of using the 1KA tool

Due to the growing number of users, the installation of 1KA online survey tool changed its operation conditions on the www.1ka.si domain. ArnesAAI users still have unlimited access, also basic functionalities are free of charge, but from 1.7.2020 the advanced functionalities are payable.

The authors of the article “Robot acceptance model for care (RAM-care): A principled approach to the intention to use care robots«propose »a model that adds a principled approach to the intention to use care robots.

Sakari Taipale, PhD, member of Centre for Social Informatics, published an article »Care Workers’ Readiness for Robotization: Identifying Psychological and Socio-Demographic Determinants« in International Journal of Social Robotics. Authors of the article identified “psychological and socio-demographic determinants associated with readiness for robotization among professional Finnish care-workers.

In November 2019, the Smart Living Forum 2019 took place in Villach, Austria. In May 2020, the proceedings of the event have been published, including the results of two intervention studies by members of Center for Social Informatics.
