Presentation of a research paper on the AoIR virtual conference
Members of the Centre for Social Informatics (Jošt Bartol, Dr. Vasja Vehovar and Dr. Andraž Petrovčič) participated in the virtual conference of the Association for Internet Researchers (AoIR), which took place from 12 to 15 October. They presented an original contribution titled “The quality of survey scales for measuring information privacy concerns on social network sites”.

ITHACA Project Final Conference
The final conference of ITHACA project in September 2021 marked the end of the five-year Interreg Europe project. Five years ago, partners from nine regions in Europe set out to adapt their health and care policies and find new solutions to support active and healthy aging for the growing population of older adults.

Natalija Rebrica published an article in the professional-scientific journal Akademija MM
The young researcher Natalija Rebrica, a member of the Centre for Social Informatics from the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana, co-authored with dr. Uršo Golob Podnar published an original scientific article in the journal Akademija MM entitled "The influence of consumer engagement on social media brand profiles on attitude towards the brand, referrals, and purchase intention".

Erasmus+ workshop on teachers competence about cyber violence against girls
As part of the Erasmus+ project “Building Teachers’ Competence about Cyber Violence against Girls”, we organized a multiplier event — a workshop with teachers and other educational professionals. The event took place at University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Social Sciences on 24th of September 2021.

Presentation of research results at the GOR 21 conference
Researchers from the Centre for Social Informatics (CSI) participated in a virtual conference of the General Online Research association. At the conference, they presented the results of a study examining how trust in surveyors about proper handling of submitted photos and risk beliefs related to submitting photos impact the willingness to submit photos in mobile surveys.

CSI members presented a paper at the ESA 2021 conference
The CSI research group and dr. Bianca C. Reisdorf attended the 15th Conference of the European Sociological Association, “Sociological Knowledges for Alternative Futures”, which took place from 31 August to 3 September 2021, with an original presentation “Does Proxy Internet Use Foster Digital Inclusion?: How Internet Skills Affect Engagement in Proxy Use, Internet Uses and Outcomes”.

Successful ending of the international project i-evAALution
On 31 March 2021, we completed the international research and development project i-evAALution. The intervention study in four countries (Austria, Slovenia, Italy and the Netherlands) took place largely at the time of the Covid-19 pandemic, which had an impact on the research process and results of the study. Nevertheless, we were able to recruit 303 older people and 202 relatives to participate.

Sakari Taipale, PhD, a member of the Centre for Social Informatics and Internet research programme, published an article in the journal Technology and Society. The article, titled »Heterogeneity of traditional and digital media use among older adults: A six-country comparison« focuses on analysing use of traditional media and their digital equivalents by older adults in six countries.
