Kick-Off Meeting of the StR-ESFRI3 Project in Ljubljana
On 9 and 10 May 2022, the StR-ESFRI3 project kicked off with a hybrid meeting that took place both online and in person in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Project partners (ATHENA Research and Innovation Centre from Greece, the Czech Academy of Sciences from Czech Republic, Università degli Studi di Milano from Italy, and Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Ljubljana from Slovenia) discussed the activities and good practices from the finished StR-ESFRI2 project.
Presentation of the results of CSI intervention studies on e-services for healthy and active ageing on two events
Two members of the Centre for Social Informatics (CSI), assist. prof. Simona Hvalič Touzery, PhD, and assoc. prof. Vesna Dolničar, PhD, were invited to the 2nd regular meeting of the working group within National Institute of Public Health focusing on ageing issues on 5 May. At the meeting, they presented a paper titled 'Effects of the use and determinants of acceptance of e-care and e-health services: presentation of findings from intervention studies'.
Published joint report from Survey among headmasters in Erasmus+ Cybersafe MOOC
In the project “Building teachers competence about cyberviolence against girls” we address the topic of online violence against girls, which is a pressing problem that many school professionals are not equipped enough to address or tackle. For that reason, we have decided to bring the topic closer with several project activities in 4 EU countries: a survey of schools, development of MOOC and educational material and building a platform about online violence with the emphasis on online violence against girls.
CSI is included in StR-ESFRI3 to Support the European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures
The Centre for Social Informatics of the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Ljubljana (UL) has joint the ATHENA Research and Innovation Centre from Greece, the Czech Academy of Sciences from Czech Republic and Università degli Studi di Milano from Italy for the H2020 project StR-ESFRI3 aimed at strengthening the European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures – ESFRI.
A new handbook for parents on safe Internet use
National Awareness Centre, which is part of the Safer Internet Centre project, has published a new handbook for parents with tips on safe internet use called “Vzgoja za internet – priročnik za starše” (How to educate for the internet - a handbook for parents). The handbook is aimed at parents of primary school children, as children become intensive Internet users during this period.
The special issue of Acta Informatica Pragensia, the main editor is dr. Vasja Vehovar
Dr. Vasja Vehovar, head of the Centre for Social Informatics, was the main editor of the special issue of Acta Informatica Pragensia entitled "Perspectives of Social Informatics". Members of the editorial board also included Zdenek Smutny of Prague University of Economics and Business and Alice R. Robbin of Indiana University. Together, they also published an editorial article titled "What is Social Informatics from an International Perspective?".
The CSI micro-workshop on ICT and Ageing
The Centre for Social Informatics (CSI) and the Centre of Excellence in Research on Ageing and Care (CoE AgeCare, University of Jyväskylä - JYU) from Finland hosted a virtual micro-workshop on ICT & Ageing on January 19, 2022. The event was organised by Dr. Andraž Petrovčič and Dr. Sakari Taipale, from JYU.
Members of CSI published an article in the journal Teorija in praksa
Jošt Bartol, Dr. Vasja Vehovar and Dr. Andraž Petrovčič, members of the Centre for Social Informatics, published a review article entitled “Information privacy concerns on the internet: Conceptual foundations and research challenges” in the journal Teorija in praksa.
