Presentation of research findings at the CoE AgeCare Mid-Term Congress in Finland

Vesna Dolničar, PhD and Simona Hvalič Touzery, PhD, Researchers from the Centre for Social Informatics (CSI) at the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana participated at the CoE AgeCare Mid-Term Congress ‘Longer lives, better care?’ Congress that was held on June 15-17 in Tempere, Finland. At the Congress they presented the results of the study among Slovenian informal carers.

D-CARE co-creation workshop

On May 24, a co-creation workshop of the project D-CARE (Interreg Danube) was held. The workshop, which took place in Postojna, was organised by the project partner RDA Green Karst. It was organized as part of the activities of the “Smart Care Pilots" work package, which aims to create Smart Care Labs in the partner regions. The aim of the workshop was to develop a model for an ICT-based solution selected in the innovation call of the project.

Final ITHACA stakeholders meeting

On Tuesday, June 14, the final meeting of the Slovenian stakeholders of the Interreg Europe ITHACA project took place. The meeting, which lasted for an hour and a half, was held via ZOOM. The aim of the meeting, to which selected key stakeholders were invited, was to present Slovenian best practices in the field of e-health and e-care, focusing on the development of services during COVID-19 pandemic.

Presentation of research findings at the 15th International Scientific Conference

Researchers from the Centre for Social Informatics (CSI) at the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana, presented two papers at the 15th international scientific conference: Digitalisation and Education in Health Sciences, which took place on 9 June, in Bled, Slovenia.

New article on proxy internet use published in The Information Society

Researchers from the Centre for Social Informatics (Dr. Darja Grošelj, Dr. Andraž Petrovčič, Dr. Vesna Dolničar), in collaboration with Dr. Bianca C. Reisdorf (University of North Carolina at Charlotte, USA), published a study in the journal The Information Society examining the changing factors that shape proxy internet use activation over time.

Presentation of a research paper at the ICA22 conference

Members of the Centre for Social Informatics (Jošt Bartol, Dr. Katja Prevodnik, Dr. Vasja Vehovar, and Dr. Andraž Petrovčič) participated in the conference of the International Communication Association (ICA), which took place from 25 to 29 May 2022. They presented an original contribution titled “The effects of internet privacy perceptions on internet uses in later life” at the meeting of the Comparative Privacy Research Network (CPRN).

New scientific publication on the factors influencing informal carers' acceptance of assistive telecare systems in the pre‐ and post‐implementation phase

Assist. Prof. Simona Hvalič Touzery, PhD, Katja Prevodnik, PhD, and assoc. prof. Vesna Dolničar, PhD (Centre for Social Informatics) have jointly published a scientific article entitled “Factors influencing informal carers' acceptance of assistive telecare systems in the pre‐ and post‐implementation phase: A scoping study” in the journal Health and Social Care in the Community. The article is available in open access from Wiley.

Free online course on cyber violence against girls for all working with young people

University of Tartu (Estonia) is offering free online course on cyber violence against girls. The goal of the course is to help understand the phenomenon of online violence and to increase the capacity to recognize, prevent and respond to online violence against young people (13-16 years old). The course is conducted entirely in English. Register before May 26.

New scientific article on acceptance and use of market-ready home-based e-Care services among care receivers and informal caregivers

Dr. Matic Kavčič (Centre for Welfare Studies), dr. Andraž Petrovčič and dr. Vesna Dolničar (Centre for Social Informatics) published an article in the International Journal of Human-Computer Interaction, titled “Model of acceptance and use of market-ready home-based e-Care services: A quality study with care receivers and informal caregivers”.
