The chapter was authored by Lea Lebar, PhD, Vesna Dolničar, PhD, and Simona Hvalič-Touzery, PhD, from the Centre for Social Informatics and Mateja Nagode, MSc, from the Directorate for Older People, Long-Term Care and Deinstitutionalisation at the Ministry for a Solidary Future.

The 2nd Survey Methodology Summer School 2026 jointly organised by the European Survey Research Association (ESRA) and the Centre for Social Informatics will take place in July 2026 at the University of Ljubljana, Ljubljana, Slovenia.

Izidor Natek, dr. Vesna Dolničar and dr. Simona Hvalič Touzery have published an original scientific article titled “Perceptions of Telecare and Care Burden Among Informal Caregivers of Older Adults With and Without Dementia”.

The Centre for Social Informatics has been awarded funding for a three-year research project titled Socially Assistive Robots in Elder Care: Acceptance, Ageism, Affordability and Implications of its Use, financed by the Slovenian Research and Innovation Agency (ARIS).

Dr. Lea Lebar, Izidor Natek, dr. Simona Hvalič Touzery and dr. Vesna Dolničar, in collaboration with Dr. Jeffrey W. Jutai, have published an original scientific article titled “Evaluating the psychosocial impacts of e-care use among older people receiving long-term care in Slovenia through the adapted PIADS-10 scale”.

Dr. Zdenek Smutny and Dr. Frantisek Sudzina from the Prague University of Economics and Business have published a new research article titled "What Affects Work Performance When Using AI Chatbots? Investigating Mediations and Factors Affecting Performance Expectancy and Intentions to Use ChatGPT".

Assoc. prof. dr. Andraž Petrovčič participated in the international seminar "Digital Routines, Creative Practices – Eyes on the Future of Ageing," organized by the research group "RG4 New technologies, ageing and care, University of Jyväskylä".

Jerneja Laznik, Dr. Andraž Petrovčič, and Dr. Simona Hvalič Touzery, together with Dr. Bianca C. Reisdorf, have published an original scientific article titled “Use-by-Proxy in Later Life: A Qualitative Study with Internet Users and Nonusers” in the International Journal of Human–Computer Interaction.

Assoc. Prof. Urška Tuškej Lovšin was selected to serve on the international jury for the Effie Europe 2025 Awards, one of the most prestigious awards in the field of effective marketing communication in Europe.

Dr. Simona Hvalič Touzery from participated in a two-day event organized by Eurocarers – European Association Working for Carers in Vilnius, Lithuania. She presented her contribution titled “Telecare in the Informal Care of Older Adults: Insights from Slovenia.”
