​On November 29th 2023, Vasja Vehovar, PhD, Head of the Centre for Social Informatics and leader of the Safer Internet Centre project, participated in the Meta Economic Roundtable: Exploring the potential of the Metaverse.

The University of Ljubljana recently launched an exhibition in Tivoli titled Achievements of the University of Ljubljana Through the Eyes of Artists. Within the Faculty of Social Sciences, the exhibition also includes the 1KA application.

Jošt Bartol, member of the Centre for Social Informatics participated in the virtual conference of the Association for Internet Researchers (AoIR). He presented two original contributions which were prepared together with his co-authors dr. Andraž Petrovčič, dr. Marina Trkman, dr. Bianca C. Reisdorf and dr. Vasja Vehovar

Jošt Bartol, Dr. Vasja Vehovar, and Dr. Andraž Petrovčič published an original research article “Systematic review of survey scales measuring information privacy concerns on social network sites” in Telematics and Informatics, a top-tier journal in the field of social informatics.

On September 28th 2023, the Centre for Social Informatics held the annual conference on Online panels and combined survey modes (Spletni paneli in kombinirani načini anketiranja - SPIKNA) in collaboration with the National Institute of Public Health and the Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia.

As every year, the Centre for Social Informatics colleagues went on our traditional September teambuilding trip.

Jošt Bartol, Dr. Vasja Vehovar, and Dr. Andraž Petrovčič in collaboration with Prof. Dr. Michael Bosnjak published an original research article "Privacy concerns and self-efficacy in e-commerce: Testing an extended APCO model in a prototypical EU country" in Electronic Commerce Research and Applications.

The European Commission organised a one-day conference in Brussels on the new Digital Service Act, with guest speakers including Marko Puschner, a member of the Safe.si Awareness Centre, part of the Safer Internet Centre project.

Distinguished scholars in the fields of digital inequalities research, internet studies and social informatics came together to discuss the impact of the pandemic on digital disparities and evaluated their effects in different societal domains and across diverse cultures.
