Prof. dr. Tina Kogovšek participated in the Panorama show on RTV SLO
Prof. dr. Tina Kogovšek, member of the Centre for Methodology and Informatics, took part in the Panorama show on RTV SLO. They addressed the topic of love and romantic relationships between young people. Dr. Kogovšek presented a study which found that the initiative among adolescents to have a partner and sexual relations is becoming more gender balanced. On average, adolescents have their first sexual intercourse at the age of 17, with girls having it slightly earlier than boys. Dr. Kogovšek pointed out that sexual intercourse today is more planned and less impulsive than it was in the 1990s. Condom use has also doubled today compared to the 1990s, with almost 90% of adolescents reporting that they used a condom at their first sexual intercourse. The show also touched on the role of the internet and social media in adolescents 's sexuality. According to dr. Kogovšek, 40% of adolescents perceive the internet as the main source of knowledge about partnership and sexuality. Another important finding of the survey is that adolescents want to learn more about the psychological and social aspects of partner relationships in education. The show can be accessed at
