The MNCWhispering Video Case Library Nominated for the 2023 Academy of International Business (AIB) Teaching Award
Videos, podcasts, artificial intelligence… Modern teaching of International Business (IB) has changed, has it not?
Four European Universities (Katholieke Universiteit Leuven from Belgium – project coordinator; University of Leeds from the United Kingdom; University of Ljubljana from Slovenia; and Poznan University of Economics and Business from Poland) together with a partner enterprise (El Izi Communications Consultancy from the United Kingdom) joined forces to tackle the current challenges of teaching international business and designing innovative international business teaching tools in an Erasmus+ project VCL4IB.
They developed a library of case studies intended for IB teaching MNCwhispering. This has been nominated for the 2023 Academy of International Business (AIB) teaching award for its innovative and user-centred approach. It namely responds to both the students’ and teachers’ needs identified in the project by enriching teaching content with research results and practical experience of both businesses and policymakers – making it more relevant. It moreover employs a modern format that includes video cases, teaching notes, knowledge clips and an accompanying e-book on key IB topics.
From the Centre of International Relations at the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana (FSS UL), prof. dr. Andreja Jaklič (project manager at FSS UL), assist. dr. Iris Koleša and assoc. prof. dr. Anže Burger participated in developing the teaching methodology and materials.
In line with the principle of basing the collection on collaboration between academia and practitioners, the project partners invited several businesses and policymakers to provide their insights. In Slovenia, Nik Vene from NV Holders, Andrej Slokar, Boštjan Jerončič and Tamara Juričić Bellomo from Incom Leone and the Mayor of the Kočevje Municipality dr.
