Event on China and Slovenia Attracted Numerous Active Discussants

In November, the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Ljubljana hosted two roundtables under the umbrella title 'China and Slovenia – Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow’. The first round table gathered acad. prof. dr. Jože Pirjevec, dr. Ivica Bakota, Zhou Yuguang and dr. Jure Ramšak in discussing the historical ties between China and Yugoslavia between 1945 and 1990. At the second round table, prof. emeritus dr. Marjan Svetličič, prof. emeritus dr. Bojko Bučar, assist. prof. dr. Anastas Vangeli and prof. dr. Andreja Jaklič debated the functioning and importance of China today and in the future.

A lively debate attracted many attendees, who actively engaged in the discussion.

*The event was organised by the Centre for International Relations and the Institute for Historical Studies at the Science and Research Centre Koper under the auspices of the Faculty of Social Sciences (University of Ljubljana) and within the framework of the ‘Slovenia and its actors in international relations and European integrations’ research programme (P5-0177), the ‘Establishing a different globalization’ research project (N6-0304) and the ‘The growing cultural distance and stereotyping in small transition countries: the case of the countries of the former Yugoslavia’ (J5-50173) research project, all funded by the Slovenian Research and Innovation Agency (ARIS).
