Ana Bojinović Fenko has published a chapter in an edited volume »(Geo)Politics of Democracy in WiderEurope«, underneath the title »The role of the European Union in (De)Democratising Its ‘New’ Members: Insights from Slovenia.« The chapter explores Slovenia’s post-accession experience and its exposure to illiberal trends. The analysis in the chapter offers a nuanced view of how the impact of European values helped safeguard democratic resilience, and reaffirmed Slovenia’s position as a Euro-optimist member state.

The edited volume, edited by Jelena Džankić, Biljana Kotevska, and Lucia Mokrá, explores the complex interplay between democracy and geopolitical interests and influence across Europe and was published by the European University Institute.
