Short content

In a non-Eurocentrist and critical manner, the course Foundations of (Post)-Modernity addresses and interprets the key topics that determined the foundations of the contemporary world over the last 500 years, as follows: geographical »discoveries« and Western colonialism, the Enlightenment, the American revolution and development of the USA, the French revolution, evolution of Western bourgeois and industrial society, European imperialism, modern migrations, development of Far-East empires, World War I and the Bolshevik revolution, the Great Depression and European totalitarianizms, World War II and the Holocaust, Cold War, decolonization. The two main themes htroughout the course are (de)colonisation and revolution.
