The course prepares students for research into the role and position of media in the contemporary society. The approaches, dealt with by the course, are based on a combination of critical reflection upon the cultural practices, and on the theoretical and empirical analysis of symbolic and real media effects. The course contents guide students towards research into the functioning of media, its representation potential and political consequences
