Short content
Europeanization introduces students to key milestones of historical context of political, social, cultural and identitary processes of Europeanization via critical analysis of utopian European integration designs and short-term unifications by force prior to World War II. The contemporary European integration project is critically analysed via integration theories and ideologies with their positive and normative impact. The course also includes all elements of the European political science curriculum considering EU studies: EU institutions, policies, decision-making processes, electoral system, political participation, political communication and governance. The seminar enables students for in-depth research on post-structuralist aspects of »Europeanness«. The course Europeanization thus provides knowledge on the European Union adapted to theoretically oriented students of the study program Studies of Politics and State. The course is also available to foreign students and is therefore taught in English.
