The course deals with theoretical controversies of the concept of globalization. Attention is devoted to deterritorialization as a key consequence of globalization and to the analyses of the global in confrontation with the national. The course introduces the concept of citizenship by examining contemporary theories and practices in civic reflection of global developments. The main focus is on the analysis of the global media industry and its social consequences.
