Short content
The course is focused on the main features and the recent developments of the selected national industrial relations systems. We first deal with the main theoretical currents in the field of comparative industrial relations and, more generally, comparative political economy. This is followed by a study of selected national systems of industrial relations. L. Baccaro’s and C. Howell’s book Trajectories of Neoliberal Transformation will be the key reading. The authors of this book systematically analyse changes in institutional forms and functions of contemporary political economies, identifying the general trends of liberalisation of the post-war regulative mechanisms. By means of comparative analysis we will try to grasp common features of the transformations within the contemporary capitalism which can occur despite preservation of certain specifics of institutional forms at the national level.
