Short content

In the framework of the course, there will be presented the epistemological and general methodological foundations of social sciences. In the first half of the course, there will be presented the general epistemological structure of social sciences and its differences to other forms of human consciousness (art, religion, mythology, ideology, etc.) In the second half od the course, the main focus will be given to the presentation of nomothetic and ideographic types of social sciences on the ground of which is based very proliferated structure of scientific explanations and scientific understandings, such as nomothetic-deductive explanations, inductive-statistical explanations, genetic-historical explanations, teleological-functional explanations, ad hoc explanations, explanations based on analogies, etc., subjective and objective types of hermeneutic understanding, etc. There will be presented) identity and difference between the logical structure of scientific forecasting, scientific explanation and scientific understanding.
