Short content
The course introduces students to the contemporary (web-based) software tools relevant in the field of social informatics, and to the potentials of their use:
- overview of trends in the supply of information tools for data collection, processing and analysis, tools for virtual cooperation and other relevant tools;
- advanced functionalities of the spreadsheets (e.g. pivot tables);
- advanced knowledge about creating and editing online content (e.g. CMS tools);
- conceptual and technological basics for production of multimedia contents (recording, editing and processing of photo, sound and video);
- principles of creative writing, editing and designing of web contents;
- practical aspects of using and optimizing social networks (e.g. FB, Twitter...);
- advanced examples of markup and style sheet languages use (e.g. CSS, HTML);
- introduction to selected contemporary programming languages;
- advanced document preparation system and markup language (Latex, especially in relation to programming language and software environment R);
- selected public digital services (e.g. eGovernment, eHealth, eLearning…).
