Short content
The course deals with the emergence and development of the paradigm of new political character and new social movements after the year 1968 and its transformation into global social movements. It depicts social movements as important motor of social and political development and follows the change of the paradigm od social movements from modern forms of social and political organization in the framework of nation state and fordist regime of production to postmodern forms in post-national and post-fordist framework. Special attention is given also to emergence and the outcome of anticolonial struggles and contemporary expressions of anticolonial movements. Theoretical presentation of the paradigm of new political character and (global) social movements is followed by presentation of case studies of existing global social movements world wide and with the reflection of the relationship between movements and institutionalized politics and analysis of channels of political mediation movements are establishing.
