Short content
on-military threats to security (environmental problems, disasters, mass migrations, terrorism, ICT field …). Definition and classification of basic terms. Strategic concepts related to the field of non-military security (the strategy of indirect approach, low-intensity conflict, operations other than war, information warfare, the concept of 'smart power'). Psychological warfare (definition of psychological warfare and propaganda, historical and contemporary cases). Economic warfare (the relationship between security and economy, definition of economic warfare, economic sanctions, historical and contemporary cases). Civilian-based (non-violent) defence (Western schools of non-violence, the concept of civilian-based defence, historical and contemporary cases, the critique of the concept). Civil protection (general overview). Non-military elements in selected national security systems and international security organizations. Non-military elements of national security during the armed conflict in Slovenia in 1991. Empirical assessment of non-military security in the prism of contemporary empirical research.
