Short content
The course gives an insight into the development of modern philosophy based on its key-concepts as they function in current intelectuall discourses and as they were developed in different historical periods: subject and substance in Descartes and Spinoza (modernity), critique and dialectics in Kant and Hegel (enlightenment), society and individuum in Marx and Nietzsche (romanticism), phenomenon and presence in Husserl and Heidegger (phenomenology), sign and language in Saussure and Jakobson (linguistics), drive and unconscious in Freud and Lacan (psychoanalysis), speach and writing in Derrida and Nancy (deconstructivism), ideology and nothing in Žižek and Dolar (t.psychoanalysis).
