Short content
The main objective of the course is reading and writing texts as an integrated processes. Students read texts and on their basis they learn to write scientific/academic and professional texts and essays in particular. Reading inspires students, introducing them to topics, ideas and problems and improving their ability to think critically and analytically. Moreover, reading centers class discussion, giving students something to talk and write about. Writing as an active mode of learning offers students instruction in organization, syntax, and language. When writing, students must both originate and record their thinking. Students deal with writing as a process and product simultaneously, that must be structured, meticulous, concise, and linguistically appropriate. On the basis of foreign and their own texts students will be acquainted with the difference between facts and evaluation and with the norms of scientific texts and academic honesty.
