Short content
The aim of the course is to systematically familiarise students with qualitative research methods in Political Science. The course has four aims: to introduce and explain issues in the philosophy of social sciences; to introduce various methods, methodologies and techniques of research; to critically evaluate approaches and methods; to align methods with research issues. The course is structured in three parts. The first part introduces key issues of the philosophy of knowledge and philosophy of social sciences. The second part introduces and critically evaluates qualitative methods and methodologies (behaviourism, institutionalism, interpretive theory, normative theory, discourse theory, etc.). The third part focuses on practical application of qualitative research methods on political issues.
