This practical course provides the students with an opportunity to perform the majority of the prescribed study assignments in the form of a fieldwork, which requires their active involvement in the process of planning and implementing activities related to marketing communications or public relations within a certain organisation. To achieve this goal, the activities are organised and defined on a yearly basis and as a result of an agreement between the lecturer and external marketing/PR experts from selected organisations.
During the practical course the students are expected to get acquainted with: the process of working on marketing or communication projects, the strategic role of marketing communications and public relations in an organization, the art of planning and implementation of specific professional activities (e.g., organising press conferences, writing press releases, preparing situation analyses, conducting consumer research), the process of brand management, and the approaches to developing and maintaining relations with various stakeholder groups (e.g., employees, media, consumers)
