Visiting lectures by Prof. Havlík from Masaryk University
From 12 to 16 November 2018, the Chair of Policy Analysis and Public Administration at the Faculty of Social Sciences hosted Prof. Havlík from Masaryk University. He held lectures within the course Political participation and Politics on the Territory of Former Yugoslavia (main lecturer: prof. Dr. Alenka Krašovec) at the undergraduate programme Political Science - Studies of Democracy and Governance.
Vlastimil Havlík works as Associate Professor at the Department of Political Science and Research Fellow at the International Institute of Political Science, Faculty of Social Studies, Masaryk University. He was Fulbright – Masaryk Visiting Researcher at Northwestern University in Illinois, United States. His research and teaching activities include populism, party politics in Central and Eastern Europe and Europeanization and Euroscepticism. He is also a member of the Team Populism, an international research group dealing with analysis and current development of populism both in Europe and in the USA. He regularly publishes texts dealing with these issues (e.g. in East European Politics and Societies, Communist and Post-Communist Studies or Perspectives on European Politics and Societies). He also wrote or edited several books focusing mostly on Czech politics and populism, and is the managing editor of the Czech Journal of Political Science.
