Visiting lectures by Prof. Chytilek ffrom Masaryk University
From 22 to 27 November 2018, the Chair of Policy Analysis and Public Administration at the Faculty of Social Sciences has hosted Prof. Roman Chytilek from Masaryk University. He held lectures within the courses Political Parties and Party Systems (main lecturer: Prof. Dr. Danica Fink Hafner) and Electoral Studies (main lecturer: Prof. Dr. Alenka Krašovec ) at the undergraduate programme Political Science - Studies of Democracy and Governance. His lectures focused on the openness of party systems with practical applications and the relationship between electoral systems and the election campaign.
Professor Roman Chytilek works as associate professor at the Department of Political Science and at the International Institute of Political Science at the University of Masaryk. He serves also as a Vice-dean for study affairs. In 2015, he received his doctorate in researching majority-voting systems. Other areas of his research are: elections, party systems, research methodology and experimental political science. He is the author and co-author of several books, including Party nomination strategies and flexible-list systems: Do preference votes matter? (2017), Theory and Methods of Political Marketing (2012) and Election Systems (2009).
