Professors from Faculty of Social Sciences participated at GETM3 Slovenia Sandpit No 3
Prof. Anuška Ferligoj, Assoc. Prof. Katja Lozar Manfreda and Prof. Tina Kogovšek from the Chair of Social Informatics and Methodology participated at GETM3 Slovenia Sandpit No 3. GETM3 is an international, interdisciplinary research and innovation project funded by the EU’s Horizon 2020 stream. It is aimed at improving employability of global talents and talent management practices to support economic development. University of Ljubljana, one of the project partners, organized the 3rd researchers’ gathering, referred to as Sandpit, between 19 and 22 September 2017 in Ljubljana.
At the start of the event, Prof. Anuška Ferligoj held the keynote address “What contributes to successful collaborative research”, which outlined key challenges and opportunities in that area. Assoc. Prof. Katja Lozar Manfreda, together with assistant Gregor Čehovin, held a workshop titled Data Collection Methods, which focused on online questionnaires using 1ka. It provided a brief conceptual background on data collection and guided the participants to create their own online questionnaire. Prof. Tina Kogovšek held a parallel workshop titled Qualitative methods, which provided an overview on methodological aspects of qualitative approach to empirical research. It also provided specific examples from key qualitative approaches, such as focus groups.
The GETM3 Sandpit event took place at the Faculty of Economics, which collaborates with this project together with Faculty of Social Sciences and Faculty of Computer and Information Science, all under the University of Ljubljana. The participation of Faculty of Social Sciences was framed within the methodological part of the event and coordinated by Assist. Prof. Andrej Kohont who is the coordinator of this project at the Faculty of Social Sciences.
