Prof. Dr. Aleš Črnič elected Deputy General Secretary of the International Association for the History of Religions IAHR
At the 23rd Congress of the International Association for the History of Religions (IAHR) in Krakow in August 2025, Prof. Dr. Aleš Črnič was elected Deputy General Secretary of this leading global religious studies organization.
Commenting on this achievement, Prof. Dr. Aleš Črnič said: "The nomination itself, and especially the election to the leadership of a global professional association, certainly represents recognition for Slovenian religious studies. We have (once again) proven that, despite our small numbers, we can be visible and successful. In addition to the ongoing regular work in the twelve-member executive committee, the main challenges that the position brings will be the lengthy preparation and coordination of the academic program for the next world congress of religious studies, which will take place in 2030."
Prof. Dr. Aleš Črnič congratulations on your achievement!
