New publication of the results of a survey on an e-care support system with physical activity monitoring function
The study investigated the effects of 4 months of use of an e-care support system with physical activity monitoring among people aged 60 years and over in Slovenia. Authors doc. Dr Simona Hvalič Touzery, Mojca Šetinc and Assoc. prof. Dr Vesna Dolničar from the Centre for Social Informatics at the UL FDV, among other findings, noted that the positive effects of using the tested service were: increased physical activity, awareness of its importance and a greater sense of security.
The two positive effects of use related to physical activity were particularly noticed among users with no previous experience of activity monitoring devices or apps. Users with a negative experience mentioned various technical problems with the service and its unreliability that resulted in feeling more burdened when they were using the service. The article, Benefits of a Wearable Activity Tracker with Safety Features for Older Adults: An Intervention Study, was published in the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health.
The survey participants used GoLiveClip, an e-care support system provided by Gociety Solutions.
