Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro Prof. Dr. Srđan Darmanović visited Faculty of Social Sciences
On Wednesday, 8 March 2017, the Faculty of Social Sciences hosted the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro Prof. Dr. Srđan Darmanovič who paid an official visit to Slovenia.
The Minister and the representatives of Montenegrin delegation were received by the faculty management. They affirmed that the cooperation between the Montenegrin and Slovenian universities, also with the Faculty of Social Sciences, is very fruitful and it has even intensified in the last three years. The Montenegrin guests thanked for the support by the University of Ljubljana and the Faculty of Social Sciences in improving the higher education system in Montenegro.
Dr. Srđan Darmanović, who is also a professor of political sciences, held a lecture for Slovenian students and professors on Montenegro and the new role of NATO in the Western Balkans. He presented the history of Montenegro, its foreign policy and strategic goals, discussed the NATO membership in the changing world and touched upon the current international issues, such as Brexit, migration wave, terrorism, rise of populism and right-wing extremism, Montenegrin attitude towards Russia, and the US direction and role under Trump presidency.
