Faculty of Social Sciences hosted Prof. Gianni Vaggi from the University of Pavia
The Chair of International Relations at the Faculty of Social Sciences has hosted Professor Gianni Vaggi from the University of Pavia. From 5 to 6 December he delivered lectures within the course Contemporary Development Problems as a regular guest lecturer at the Postgraduate Programme of International Relations (main lecturer: Prof. Maja Bučar).
Professor Vaggi graduated in Economics at the University of Pavia and received a PhD at the University of Cambridge. He teaches Development Economics and Economics of Emerging Economies and other courses at the Universities of Padua, Genova, Varese and Pavia. He has been teaching and giving seminars in more than thirty different universities. Since 1997 he is the Director of the Cooperation and Development Network, and founder and director of the master program in Co-operation and Development of the University Institute of Advanced Study of Pavia, which is being implemented in five countries (Nepal, Kenya, Palestine, Colombia and Italy). He is a member of several international societies, including the European Society for the History of Economic Thought, the History of Economics Society of the United States, and the Royal Economic Society.
