Assoc. Prof. Petra Roter at the Committee of Ministers
Assoc. Prof. Petra Roter (Centre of International Relations, Ljubljana, Slovenia) presented to the Committee of Ministers the Eleventh Activity Report of the Advisory Committee under the Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities. The biannual report covers the period between June 2016 and May 2018, when she was the president of the Advisory Committee. In her presentation, she focused on the processes that negatively affect access to minority rights and thus pose serious obstacles to societal integration: populism, nationalism and exclusive nation-building, securitisation of minority issues, bilateralisation and a lack of effective multilateralism.
