Faculty of Social Sciences hosted Professor Marat Shterin from the King's College in London

In May 2016 the Chair of Cultural Studies at the Faculty of Social Sciences hosted Professor Marat Shterin from the Department of Theology and Religious Studies of the King’s College in London. He conducted a course titled Islam and the West within the Postgraduate Programme of Cultural Studies – Studies in Culture and Religion.

​In April 2016 Chair of Policy Analysis and Public Administration at the Faculty of Social Sciences hosted Professor Agniezska Turska-Kawa from the University of Silesia, Katowice. Prof. Turska-Kawa held a lecture titled „Poland and its Political Role in Central and Eastern Europe“ within the course Political System of Slovenia.

Prof. Daya Thussu from University of Westminster (London) at the Faculty of Social Sciences

The Chair of Media Studies hosted prof. Daya Thussu from University of Westminster in London who visited our faculty from May 9 to 12. Professor Thussu gave lectures as part of the MA course International and Intercultural Communication.

​The 23rd International Public Relations Symposium, popularly known as BledCom, will take place on July 1 - 2, 2016 in picturesque Bled, Slovenia. From 19 to 21 April 2016 Chair for Organizational and Human Resource Management and Development at the Faculty of Social Sciences hosted Professor Maria João Centeno from School of Communication and Media Studies in Lisbon, Portugal (Escola Superior de Comunicação Social, Instituto Politécnico de Lisboa). Professor Centeno held a lecture titled „Strategic Management of Cultural Organizations“ within the course Theory and Practice of Leadership.

From 11 to 15 April 2016 Chair for International Relations at the Faculty of Social Sciences hosted Professor Artur Adamczyk from the Centre for Europe, University of Warsaw, Poland. Prof. Adamczyk held the lecture titled „European Neighbourhood Policy: Eastern Partnership“ within the course External Relations of the EU and the lecture „Polish Foreign Policy Process“ within the course Foreign Policy.

Faculty of Social Sciences organised an Information day for its students who will study abroad in the study year 2016/17. Students obtained information on the procedures and necessary documentation for successfully applying for their exchange and trainee-ships.

Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana, has signed a collaboration agreement with the NATO Mountain Warfare Centre of Excellence. The contract will enable student practice, library visits, visiting lectures etc.
