Thematic Commentary on Education under the Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities explains that States must ensure equal access to quality education for all, including members of national minorities, and that the educational process plays an important role both in the expression, preservation and development of minority identities and in the integration of diverse societies.

At two-day international wokshop they presented the diverse current research and stressed the need for more interdisciplinary approaches to contemporary popular culture.
