New Publication: Paper on Video Case Studies in IB Teaching

The Journal of Teaching in International Business published a paper titled 'Video Case Studies in IB Teaching: An Empirical Comparison of Academic and Student Perceptions and Expectations' written by Filip De Beule, Andreja Jaklič (member of CIR), Aleksandra Kania, Katarzyna Mroczek-Dąbrowska, Nukhet Vardar, and Hinrich Voss.

Andreja Jaklič Recipient of Best Reviewer Award at the AIB-CEE 2019 Conference in Lithuania

Prof. dr. Andreja Jaklič, member of the Centre of International Relations, participated at the 'International Business in the Dynamic Environment: Changes in Digitalization, Innovation and Entrepreneurship' AIB-CEE conference that took place between 25 and 27 September 2019 at the Kaunas University of Technology in Lithuania. At the event, Andreja presented two competitive papers, participated in discussions at several panels and meetings, and received a best reviewer award. Congratulations!

Metka Stare about Global Value Chains at the RESER Conference in Spain

Metka Stare participated at the 29th International RESER Conference on ‘Services and the future of the workforce’, which took place between 12 and 14 September 2019 in Ceuta, Spain. She presented a paper co-authored by Klemen Knez and Andreja Jaklič (all from CIR) titled ‘Relevance of length and position in GVCs for exploring sectoral convergence in EU’.

New Paper titled China and Central and Eastern European Countries within '16+1': Group or Bilateral Relations?

Andreja Jaklič and Marjan Svetličič from CIR published a paper titled ‘China and Central and Eastern European Countries within '16+1': Group or Bilateral Relations?’ in the Entrepreneurial Business and Economics Review. The article focuses on developments within the ’16+1’ initiative, overviews international trade and investment between CEECs and China and discusses the implications for business.

Taking a Creative Path to Knowledge: A Strategy for the Penetration of the Slovenian Integrative Medicine into Foreign Markets

Students of international relations at the Faculty of Social Sciences together with students from the Faculty of Law, Faculty of Pharmacy, and Faculty of Economics at the University of Ljubljana took part in the project 'Po kreativni poti do znanja' (eng. `Taking a creative path to knowledge'). They collaborated with prof. dr. Andreja Jaklič (mentor), assist. prof. dr. Andrej Kohont (co-mentor), and the Ars Pharmae company to prepare a strategy for the penetration of the Slovenian integrative medicine into foreign markets.

New Paper on the Evolution of Central and Eastern Europe Related International Business Research

Andreja Jaklič, Krzysztof Obloj, Marjan Svetličič and Luka Kronegger have published a paper titled 'Evolution of Central and Eastern Europe Related International Business Research' in JBR. In the paper, they review the presence of articles related to CEE in Web of Science. They conduct a bibliometric analysis as well as topic research of CEE-related articles in IB, management and economics up to 2016.

Welcome Day for international students

More than 150 students from different countries will do their exchange in the framework of the Erasmus+ programme, some of them will do their exchange based on bilateral agreements with universities also outside of the EU.

1st CELSA Service to Society Award goes to Assoc. Prof. Rok Zupančič of the University of Ljubljana

On behalf of the CELSA – Central Europe Leuven Strategic Alliance, the Rector of the University of Ljubljana Prof. Dr. Igor Papič awarded the first Service to Society Award​2019. We are proud to announce that Dr. Rok Zupančič, Associate Professor of Security Studies at the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Social Sciences, is the first to receive the CELSA Award for the significant social, economic and cultural impact of his community-driven research and field work, and for his efforts to include marginalised groups and the general public in his studies and outreach activities.
