Dr. Simona Zavratnik (Center for Spatial Sociology), M.A. Živa Broder and Rebeka Falle Zorman (Public Opinion Research Center) attended WAPOR 71st Annual Conference: Public Opinion Research in a Changing World. They presented a paper: Public opinion and migration: the case study from a Slovenian perspective, which was published in »Teorija in praksa« in 2017

[Research] RePAST – Strengthening European Integration through the analysis of conflicting discourses: revisiting the past, anticipating the future

On 1 May, a new research project RePAST – Strengthening European Integration through the analysis of conflicting discourses: revisiting the past, anticipating the future was launched. The project builds its enthusiasm around the process of European integration, which is, in the recent period, due to radicalization, reactionary policies, populism, migrant and refugee crisis, and the financial crisis, facing major challenges.

[Science] Generating global network structures by triad types

The article, published in the scientific journal PLOS One, addresses the question of whether it is possible to generate the networks with a given global structure (operationalized by a blockmodel) with only considering the different triad types.

[New at FDV Publishing House] Elena Nacevska: Women in Politics in Western Balkan Countries

A new book has been published at FDV Publishing House from author Elena Nacevska titled Women in Politics in Western Balkan Countries. The book 'Women in Politics in Western Balkan Countries' provides a comparative analysis of three selected case studies (transition countries) of the Western Balkans (Macedonia, Serbia and Croatia) in addition of explaining the reasons for lower presence of women in decision making structures.

[Research] Waste Electronics – Risk Assessments

The research project Waste Electronics – Risk Assessments is running from February 2018 onwards at the Centre for Social Studies of Science. Drawing on the field of Science and Technology Studies (S&TS), this research project engages in the regulations that govern the management of electronic waste (e-waste). E-waste is the fastest growing waste category in the world.
