[Research] The instrumentalisation of politics and politicians-as-commodities: a qualitative analysis of slovenian parties’ understanding of political communication

The article by Jernej Amon Prodnik examines current processes in institutional politics and the often discussed tendency towards the professionalisation of political communication. It relates this tendency to the instrumentalisation of political life and its adoption of the commodity logic in public communication.

Dr. Dejan Verčič from the Faculty of Social Sciences to receive IPR Pathfinder award

Dr. Dejan Verčič, Professor and Head of Centre for Marketing and Public Relations at the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Ljubljana, will receive the 2016 Pathfinder Award, the highest academic honor bestowed by the Institute for Public Relations (IPR), at the 2016 Annual Distinguished Lecture and Awards Dinner on November 30 at the Roosevelt Hotel in New York City.

[Science] Quantitative monitoring of military transformation in the period 1992–2010: Do the protagonists of transformation really change more than other countries?

The fact that military transformation has been a complex, slow, asymmetric, changeable, political, and not necessarily completely rational process points to the need to develop an effective monitoring mechanism. This paper fills a gap in the literature by creating and testing a model for multidimensional and multilevel quantitative monitoring of military transformation applicable in any country.
