Wednesday's lecture was titled Art Movements that shaped Japanese post-war art. As an introductory lecture on the subject of post-war art movements, the lecture provided a brief outline of post-war art movements in Japan and highlighted the Sōgetsu art movement (1958-1971), which proved to be one of the key junctions in a wide range of Japanese avant-garde art. Beginning in the early 1960s, it provided a rich experimental and innovative platform for Japanese artists and made it possible to interact more closely with Western avant-garde artists.

On Monday, 21 October 2019, EARL hosted Ms Sanae Tada, Director of the Japan Foundation's Budapest division, who presented Japan Foundation's activities and opportunities that it offers to students, lecturers, researchers and artists.

On 30 October 2019 at 17:00 (Lecture room 08, EARL, Faculty of Social Sciences) you are corially invited to the lecture titled "The art movements that shaped Japanese post-war art" by Dr Klara Hrvatin.

On Monday, 21st October 2019 an opening of a book exhibition took place at EARL. Presented at the opening by Professors Jana Rošker and Zlatko Šabič, the exhibited books were donated by the National Central Library from Taiwan.

The exhibition is open to the public until 26th October.

Ms Sanae TADA had a presentation about the Japan Foundation and its Budapest office activities in the East Asia Resource Library (EARL) reading room on Monday, 21st of October 2019 at the Faculty of Social Sciences in Ljubljana.
