The COVID Pandemic, the Ethics of Global Humanism, and the Fate of Cultural Heritage Symposium

The East Asia Research Library (EARL) is one of the co-organizers of the East Asia: The COVID Pandemic, the Ethics of Global Humanism, and the Fate of Cultural Heritage Symposium. The event, co-organized with the Department of Asian Studies and the Asian Languages and Cultures program groups of the Faculty of Arts, will mark the 25th anniversary of the Department's establishment.

Call for papers: Situations International Conference 2021

The East Asia Resource Library (EARL) is co-hosting the Situations International Conference 2021, with the title Between Asia and Europe: Whither Comparative Cultural Studies? The conference will take place in Ljubljana, between May 21-22, 2021, in a hybrid form (combination of online and in-person events). The deadline for 4,000-word research proposals, including a 100-word bio statement and a 150-word abstract, is April 15, 2021.

Access to New Statesman magazine

Students and staff can now access the New Statesman online via the Faculty of Social Sciences subscription. The subscription covers access to international and UK versions of the New Statesman website which contains all articles featured in the print magazine plus a lot of additional, online-only content, including podcasts.

Covid-19: library lending and other services

Due to a government decree, physical entry into the library is not possible until further notice. By prior arrangement (e-mail izposoja.odkjg@fdv.uni-lj.si or phone 01/5805-150) the library materials ordered through Cobiss can be picked up at the faculty entrance (between 9:00 and 15:00) or ordered to be sent by post.

Yomidas Rekishikan database is a digital archive covering the entire history of newspaper publishing in Japan. Students and staff of Faculty of Social Sciences and Faculty of Arts can access the trial from 5 January until 7 March 2021.

The Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs invites students from Slovenia to join the MIRAI (Mutual-understanding, Intellectual Relations and Academic Exchange Initiative) Program in Japan, in May 2021.
